What a Group

On night 6 we got to dress up in our best clothes or at least our cleanest remaining clothes and have a great fine dining experience at Woodleaf. Here are some pictures of our whole group and individual pictures of Kids and Leaders.

Mountain Bikes

This morning a group of our guys went out on the mountain bikes for an early morning ride. It was fantastic, not major injuries so that's good.

Western Night

Last night we had a great old fashioned western night, where the kids got to dress up in their best Western clothes and have an amazing dinner followed by square dancing which ended with a dance through the ages and jumping into the pool with their clothes on. Here are some pictures from the night.
Yes that is a pretzel in Josh's mouth.

Day 5

Tonight is a night of hope. Kids get to hear about what God did to deal with our condition of Sin. Please pray for our kids as they hear this message that brings freedom.

Ropes

On day four part of our Tulare County Group got to experience the ropes course, the rest of our group is going today. Here are some pictures.

PS- Our short, stocky Area Director did catch the bar.

Day 4

Day four. Our Club talk was about "broken". This talk dealt with the brokenness in the world and the condition on sin that causes it. This is always a tough talk, but the speaker was amazing in the way he shared it with kids.

This night is always a struggle, there are always things that go on to distract kids from this message. Please be praying that kids would hear this message and the distractions would be bound, so they can more fully understand the message tonight about what Jesus did for them.

Adult Guests Have Fun Too!

We had some of our Local Young Life Committee come up and see Woodleaf in action. They got to stay in the plush Adult Guest lodge here and also got to experience first had some parts of camp like the Ridge-runners. Here are some of the pictures from that.

If you or anyone else you know would like to get the very best picture possible of what we do in Young Life and would like to be an adult guest, please contact us.

Ridge-runners

As cabins, every kid has the chance to take on the Ridge-runners, which are an off road car type thing that you once again get very muddy on. Here are some pics of our kids driving them and after.

Day 3 "Included"

Day 3. Last night the club talk was "Included." Scott talked about how we are all included as children of God and that is how we were created, but there is something going in our world that messes that up. He'll get to what that is later in the week.

Messy

One of the great things about Young Life and Woodleaf is the opportunity that kids have to be just that, "Kids." On day two we had an amazing messy game competition. The kids really went all out as you can see from the pictures.

Day 2 "You are invited"

We have been having a blast! But it has been busy and fun. The speaker Scott Lisea has been great and kids have really been tracking with him. The First nights talk at club was, "You are invited into a relationship with the God of the Universe who created you."
The Second night was, " You are Love by this amazing God." Each night he has actually been wearing shirts that say, "invited" and "Loved". Kids from Tulare County have really been tracking with him and love his amazing humor. He is great at making Jesus real to them.

Let's Blob!

One of our friends from Tulare got to experience the Blob right off the bus in her clothes! It was one of the best blobs we have ever seen.

Our kids arrive at Woodleaf

Even the welcome at Woodleaf is awesome! Here are a bunch of pictures of kids from Tulare County jumping off the bus as we arrived at Woodleaf. Nervous smiles and excitment.

Great Trip to Woodleaf

We left Tulare County Saturday morning with a full bus of kids and leaders. We have figured out that we have the largest group from Tulare County in 20 years, plus we have the largest group at Woodleaf this week. This will be fun.

We had a fun trip here, no problems it was very smooth.

The Orange Belt Bus Pulls Out Tomorrow Morning

Well we pull out of the Valley tomorrow morning. We currently have 53 leaders and kids heading to woodleaf for the time of their lives. This will litterally be one of the best weeks of their life.
I hear it is going to be over 100 degrees here in the Valley tomorrow so I'm glad to be getting out. Woodleaf's high has been around 85 degrees. Sounds good to me.
Please be praying for a smooth departure in the morning for us and safe travels. It's about a 5 and half to 6 hour ride.
Speaking of ride, we will be traveling on a sweet Orange Belt Charter that was provided to us at an amazing price. So, we just want to thank Orange Belt for taking care of us so well. Plus it's a super nice bus.
Please keep us in your prayer and I'll be posting pictures as soon as we take some.
